What makes a good entry (read me first)
Tone: reverent and factual. Write what a pilgrim needs, not a brochure. Short paragraphs beat long ones.
Detail: the essentials are enough to start: correct name, tradition, town, and a couple of honest sentences. You can add depth after submitting, from “My contributions”.
Accuracy: only what you know or can point to a source for. Timings and festival dates change; note when you last confirmed them.
A model entry: see Maa Kamakhya Temple for the level the directory aims at. Yours does not need to be that deep on day one.
Common questions
Do I need an account? You can submit without one, but signing in lets you track status, edit before review, and hear when your entry goes live.
What happens after I submit? Your entry gets a private preview link and enters review. A human reads every one. You will be emailed when it is published or if changes are requested.
The place already exists on Adisthan? Do not create a duplicate; open its page and use “Suggest an edit” instead. The form will warn you if we spot a likely match.
Can I edit after submitting? Yes: while it awaits review, from “My contributions”. After publishing, use “Suggest an edit” on the page, or claim the page if you serve this place.
Photos? Yes: add them in the Photos step with a caption and your credit. They stay private until a reviewer approves the entry.
