Galitska Synagogue
About
The Halytska Synagogue stands in the heart of Kyiv, serving the local Orthodox Jewish community in a city whose Jewish life reaches back through centuries of devotion, learning, and trial. Its address on Zhylianska Street places it within the older Jewish neighbourhoods that took shape across the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
The congregation follows the Ashkenazi liturgical tradition, the minhag carried by Jewish communities of central and eastern Europe. Daily services, Shabbat prayers, and the festivals of the Jewish year are observed here in continuity with that long inheritance.
Known also as Beit Yaakov Shul, the synagogue stands as one of the active Orthodox communities of Kyiv, a place where Torah study, communal prayer, and the rhythms of Jewish observance continue in the Ukrainian capital.
