The day Digambara Jains recall Lord Adinatha, the first Tirthankara, breaking a year-long fast with sugarcane juice, the origin of the ahara-dana almsgiving rite; at a basadi dedicated to Lord Shantinatha, the sixteenth Tirthankara, the day is kept as part of the shared Jain calendar rather than as an observance unique to this shrine.
